What I Learnt My Trip To Ferrymead

Baking In 1860's

We try to make bread and butter like in the 1860's.First we made the butter because it took the shortest amount of time . We got cream and salt in a Medium jar then the whole group shook it after about 15 minutes you'll feel something solid in the jar. Keep going until you see a solid lump and it gets heavy.Next we made the bread we put some flour in a pot  then we added butter that we had cut into cubes. We had to squish the butter with our hand in till it became Invisible. Then we added water in the pot and mixed it. After that  We took it out of the pot and put flour on the table. Then we kneaded the dough to make it have no lumps.Then we put it in the oven for half an hour. Then we put the butter and bread  ate it and it tasted like it tasted to salty for me.
